Bhubaneswar: Senior BJP leader and Bhubaneswar MP Aparajita Sarangi on Tuesday presented a report card on developmental works undertaken in her Parliamentary Constituency in the last five years since she was elected to Lok Sabha.
With the tenure as Lok Sabha member nearing completion, the report card of the parliamentarian highlighted 50 major achievements made in the last five years.
According to the report card, a total of 14,317 grievances were received during the period of which 12,598 have already been resolved. This shows that around 88 per cent of the public grievances received during the period have been resolved by the MP.
Stating that projects worth Rs 7,916 crore have been approved in the last five years, Sarangi in her report card said that steps have been taken for the construction of 10 flyovers and four foot-over bridges at a cost of Rs 508 crore.
While the Hanspal over-bridge will be completed by March 31, a railway over-bridge has been set up at Jatni, the Lok Sabha member said in her report card.
Similarly, as many as 7230 solar lights and 461 cold drinking water supply centres have been installed. Rs 3.32 crore has been provided to 137 patients through the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund.
An amount of Rs 10 crore has been sanctioned for the protection of Bhubaneswar’s temples and cultural heritage, while Rs 34.4 lakh has been given as assistance to 972 people through a special fund called ‘Bharasa’.
The report card said that the BJP MP has actively participated in 34 debates in Parliament. She has undertaken extensive visits to 112 wards, 156 gram panchayats and more than a thousand villages where she has held pad yatras and public meetings.
This apart, encroachments have been removed from public land and farmlands in Deras area on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar, while water supply has been provided to 300 acres of land following the initiative made by Aparajita, the report card stated.
