Bhubaneswar: BJP’s Lok Sabha candidate for Bhubaneswar Aparajita Sarangi on Saturday targeted her rivals in the election for resorting to aggressive methods and foul words against her during campaign for ensuing elections.
Participating in a people’s contact programme at Madhuban Park in Kalinga Nagar of the city, Sarangi said development, people-oriented policy and services to society have been her basic principles in politics. She believes in principle-based politics, she added.
Calling upon her rivals in the ensuing elections to desist from targeting her through unfair means, she advised them to engage in contest with humility and honour.
The bureaucrat-turned-politician said the entire population of Bhubaneswar was her extended family and the good will she had earned during her 5-year tenure as its MP was her most precious wealth. “I have been able to get closer to the people through my works and fight for their rights. Instead of following my steps, the rivals should work on their original ideas to garner support from the electorate of the most prestigious constituency in Odisha,” said the sitting MP from Bhubaneswar.
