Bhubaneswar: The Commissioner of Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation Prem Chandra Chaudhary on Thursday took the COVID-9 vaccine at Capital Hospital here.
Chaudhary said he is doing well after taking the shot and called upon the people to come forward and take the jab. The BMC Commissioner also requested people not to believe on rumours and take the vaccine.
He said “I could not take the vaccine earlier, when the drive for frontline workers started, due to medical reasons but now I am fine and after consultations I have come forward to take the shot.”
By taking the vaccine, people are not only getting themselves immunized but also ensuring the safety of others, he said and added that this is necessary in the present scenario when the second wave of COVID-19 is being reported in some states of the country.
