Bhubaneswar: Passengers of an Air India Express flight from Delhi to Bhubaneswar allegedly had a harrowing experience after it was diverted to Kolkata airport because of bad weather on Thursday night.
According to sources, the passengers were allegedly asked to fly back to their respective locations at their own expense after the flight landed in Kolkata, leading to distress and commotion at the airport.
As several passengers were left helpless, having to spend the night at the airport, the airline management finally intervened and arranged for a flight to carry them back to Bhubaneswar. The flight took off with the passengers this morning.
The airline is yet to issue any statement on the incident.
