Bhubaneswar: In view of the forthcoming Independence Day, the Commissionerate Police have intensified patrolling and surveillance in Odisha Capital under ‘Safe City Drive’.
During the drive, checks were conducted in hotels across the city, especially those located in Kharvela Nagar, Badagada, Capital, Saheed Nagar and Laxmi Sagar areas.
The hotel owners were directed to use ‘Sarai’ app and ensure proper documentation of their customers. A senior police official said the hotel staff and owners have been asked to upload the details on Sarai, on a daily basis.
The hotel owners have been warned of strict action if proper procedures are not followed while checking in and checking out guests and any immoral or illegal activity on their premises.
Besides, the police verified occupancy of all hotels in these areas, and records of the boarders. “The identity proof submitted by the customers have also been checked and the suspicious ones are under our watch,” the official added.
