Bhubaneswar: Prompt action by Dhauli Police saved the life of a 25-year-old young man, who allegedly attempted suicide inside a hotel room in Bhubaneswar after posting a distressing video message on social media.
The youth had uploaded a video indicating his intent to end his life before switching off his mobile phone. Fearing the worst, his family members immediately contacted the police for help.
Responding swiftly, police teams launched a intensive search operation, leveraging human intelligence, CCTV surveillance, and mobile location tracking. Following an intensive technical analysis lasting nearly six hours, officers pinpointed the victim’s location to a hotel near Master Canteen area.
Upon arriving at the scene, police found the hotel room locked from the inside and broke down the door. The young man was found lying unconscious in a pool of blood with slit wrists.
Dhauli Police Station Inspector-in-Charge (IIC) Smruti Ranjan Mohanty and his team immediately rushed the victim to Capital Hospital.
Confirming the rescue operation, Bhubaneswar DCP Jagmohan Meena stated: “At around 10 PM last night, IIC Dhauli received information regarding a 25-year-old youth attempting suicide after a relative alerted the officer. The team immediately conducted technical analysis and traced the youth to a hotel in the Master Canteen area. Upon reaching the hotel, they found the room locked from inside. Officers broke open the door and found that he had slit his veins and was lying in a pool of blood. He was immediately rushed him to Capital Hospital, where he is currently undergoing treatment and is in stable condition.”
