Bhubaneswar: The health condition of the six-year-old girl who was allegedly raped by her maternal uncle in the Odisha capital on Tuesday, is critical now, informed SCB Medical College and Hospital Emergency Officer, Bhubannananda Moharana.
Dr Moharana also informed that the minor is currently undergoing treatment at the ICU and an eight-member team of doctors is monitoring her.
He also said that all possible medical assistance is being provided to the survivor free of cost.
Cuttack district judge, Satyanarayan Mishra visited the hospital to enquire about the health of the survivor and spoke to her family members.
The minor belongs to Mahisakhal locality under Laxmisagar police limits in Bhubaneswar. The incident occurred, when her mother was out of the house for some work.
Initially she was admitted to the Capital Hospital. Later, her condition deteriorated and she was shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital.
As her family members did not lodge any complaint against the accused, the police suo moto registered a case of rape and detained the accused.
