Bhubaneswar Registers 185 New COVID Cases

Bhubaneswar: The daily COVID cases, which had remained above 200 for two consecutive days in Odisha capital, went below it on Sunday.

According to Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC), total 185 new positive cases of COVID were registered during 24 hours from 9 am on Saturday to Sunday. All the infected persons were local contact cases, it added.

Of the day’s figure, maximum 27 cases were reported from Patia, followed by 16 each from Khandagiri and Old Town, 14 from Chandrasekharpur, and 13 from Nayapalli.

With this, the active cases in the city have gone up to 845. While the total cases have mounted to 1,58,858, as many as 1,56,799 patients have recovered and 1193 persons have succumbed to the disease.

Daily cases crossed 200 in Bhubaneswar for the first time in fourth wave of the COVID pandemic on Friday. The city reported 228 new cases on Saturday, 210 on Friday, 176 on Thursday, 184 on Wednesday and 170 on Tuesday.
