Bhubaneswar: Odisha capital witnessed marginal increase in daily COVID cases on Wednesday from yesterday’s registered count.
According to Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC), total 120 new COVID cases were registered in the city on the day compared to 102 on Tuesday and 103 on Monday. All the new patients were local contact cases.
However, 136 patients recovered from the disease during the last 24 hours, the BMC stated in a tweet.
Of the day’s cases, maximum 15 were reported from Patia, followed by 9 from Patrapada and 6 each from Jharpada, Kalinga Nagar and Khandagiri.
The number of COVID active cases dropped to 1,142 from yesterday’s 1,158, while the number of deceased due to the disease remained same at 1,194.
The total number of infected persons in the city went up to 1,63,461 even as recovered cases reached 1,61,104 during the period.
