Bhubaneswar: The Odisha capital reported 898 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, which took the active cases tally to 10,656 on Thursday.
According to Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC), 126 are from quarantine and 772 local contacts.
Old Town reported the highest of 45 cases followed by Nayapalli (37), Chandrasekharpur, Khandagiri and Jharpada (29 each), Patia (25), Laxmisagar (23), Mancheswar (21), Badagada and Tankapani Road (20 each), Baramunda and Dumduma (19 each), and Niladri Vihar (18).
On the other hand, 1,228 more patients recovered from the disease during this period.
Bhubaneswar also saw two deaths, which took the COVID toll to 345.
The deceased have been identified as two men aged 47 and 42 years.
