Bhubaneswar: In a humanitarian gesture to the family of a deceased journalist, the St, Xavier International School, here has announced to bear the educational expenses of his daughter.
At a function organised in honour of late Prabir Pradhan, who was working as a senior reporter in an Odia news channel, principal of the school BN Patnaik said the school will extend free education to Prabir’s daughter till Plus II.
Prabir succumbed to COVID-19 on November 5. Known for astute sense of reporting, he was appreciated for his lovable and friendly nature.

Meanwhile, Odisha government has sanctioned financial assistance of Rs 15 lakh to the family of Tarini Padhi, the Kandhamal correspondent of a vernacular daily. Padhi also succumbed to COVID-19 while undergoing treatment on September 29.
