Bhubaneswar: Goods and Services Tax (GST) officials raided the house of a scrap dealer at Bapuji Nagar on Monday and arrested him with the help of Commissionerate Police for committing GST fraud to the tune of Rs 10 crore.
The accused, Smruti Ranjan Sahu, had not been paying GST for the past few years even though his annual turnover was Rs 40 crore, officials said,
They added that Sahu had opened seven fake firms in the name of rickshaw pullers, students and others in order to evade paying GST.
