Bhubaneswar Sees 4°C Drop In Night Temp In 24 Hours; Mercury May Fall Further In 2 Days



Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department  (IMD) on Wednesday warned of dense fog in Sundargarh, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Koraput, Jharsuguda, Balangir and Sonepur districts of Odisha till December 5 morning.

The weather agency has also forecast cloudy sky with possibility of light rain in Koraput, Ganjam and Gajapati till 5 pm pm on Wednesday (December 3) under the influence of the well-marked low-pressure area over North Tamil Na

du-Puducherry coasts and neighbourhood, which is likely to continue to move southwestwards slowly across north coastal Tamil Nadu and Puducherry and weaken further into a low-pressure area during the next 24 hours.

It has predicted a further drop in the night temperature by 2-3°C across Odisha during the next 2 days with no large change thereafter.

In the last 24 hours, the mercury dropped below 10°C in the state with G Udayagiri recording the lowest minimum temperature of 9.8°C. Daringbadi came close second at 10°C. The night temperature in Bhubaneswar dropped by almost 4 degrees with the city recording 16.4°C as against 20°C the previous day. Cuttack recorded 14.8°C, a drop of 2.8°C since yesterday.

The mercury may drop to 12°C and 13°C in Cuttack and Bhubaneswar respectively by December 7, it added.
