Bhubaneswar Sees Slight Drop In Daily COVID Caseload; 5 More Deaths

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha capital reported 323 new COVID-19 cases during the last 24 hours, a slight fall from 374 the previous day.

The city had seen 343 infections on Friday and had been reporting over 300 for the past 15 days.

According to Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation’s (BMC) Sunday tweet, 80 of the fresh cases are from quarantine and 243 local contacts.

Patia and Chandrasekharpur reported the highest number of 17 cases each, followed by IRC Village and Khandagiri (15 each) and Dumduma (11).

The 24 hours also saw five COVID deaths and 387 patients getting cured of the infection.

Among the fatalities were three men and two women in the age group of 42 to 63 years. Three had no co-morbidities.

With this, the city now has 1415 active cases.

The aggregate caseload of the city has reached 89,185, while 435 people have died due to coronavirus and 87,314 have recovered.
