Bhubaneswar: Vigilance sleuths have arrested Udayanath Jena, a senior clerk at the office of Sub-Collector in Bhubaneswar, for allegedly possessing assets worth Rs 1.32 crore disproportionate to his known sources of income.
On Thursday, simultaneous raids were conducted at Jena’s two-storey residence at Ebaranga in Sundarpada, his house at native Endulapur village in Kendrapada and office room in Bhubaneswar.
The investigation revealed that Jena owned a two-storey building having a market value of 66.94 lakh, seven plots in Bhubaneswar and Puri amounting to Rs 12 lakh and deposits in different banks to the tune of Rs 9.30 lakh, said an officer of the Vigilance Bhubaneswar division.

This apart, his assets included household articles worth Rs 8 lakh and Rs 2.47 lakh gold and silver ornaments.
