Bhubaneswar: Temperature went up sharply in most parts of Odisha on Tuesday with the state capital and the industrial town of Talcher emerging as the hottest place at 39.2 Degree Celsius each.
Besides, temperature hovered around 35 degrees and above at 17 place in Balasore (35.5), Chandbali (38), Cuttack (37), Angul (38.7), Baripada (38), Jharsuguda (38.3), Keonjhar (35.3) Sambalpur (38.5), Sundargarh (37.5), Hirakud (38.3), Talcher (39.2), Bhawanipatna (36), Bolangir (38.2),Titilagarh (39), Malkangiri (39), Sonepur (38.8) and Dhenkanal (38).
The coastal areas of Paradip, Gopalpur and Puri also recorded 32 degree and above with intense humid conditions.
A Met release here in the evening said that there will be further rise in day and night temperature in the next 48 hours.
The release, however, has predicted nor’wester (Kala Baisakhi) at one or two places in the coastal and North Odisha from April 16 to 18.
