Bhubaneswar: The popular street event of Patha Utsav or Raahgiri will be presented in Odisha capital with new shape and concept. The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) has chalked out elaborate plans to organise the new edition of the event.
According to sources, the BMC has decided to engage a separate event management company to conceptualise and curate the event. As per plans, Patha Utsav is set to be held in three administrative zones on three different Sundays.
Arrangements are now being made to organise the next Patha Utsav this month, while two more events would be held in January, next year. As per tentative plans, the first event is likely to be organised on the Janpath in Bhubaneswar on December 24.
Similarly, the second Patha Utsav is set to be organised on the foothills of Sikharchandi on Janunary 7. The final event is proposed to be held on Rath Road in Old Town area of the state capital on January 21.
This time, the BMC is planning to organise the event on a bigger scale with additional activities. There will be workshops, games, cultural shows and live events. Plans are also afoot to include various contests like painting.
