Bhubaneswar: With two-day weekend lockdown in force, the Capital City witnessed a drop in COVID-19 cases on Sunday when 809 persons tested positive for the virus.
The day’s report showed a drop of nearly 300 positive cases compared to 1093 on Saturday and 1119 on Friday, according to Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC). Besides, 598 patients recovered from the disease.
Of the new cases, 690 were local contacts and 119 from quarantine. Of the local contacts, 55 were from Old Town, 49 from Patia, 42 from Khandagiri, 36 from Nayapalli and 31 from Chandrasekharpur.
With the day’s addition, the total positive cases have gone up to 46,317 and active cases to 8378. Total 37652 patients have recovered while 266 have succumbed to the disease.
