Bhubaneswar: A woman has accused a constable of the OSAP 6th battalion in Bhubaneswar of duping her Rs 20 lakh on pretext of marriage.

The woman, in a petition to Bhubaneswar DCP, has said she came to know the constable, Pritiranjan Behera of OSAP, through social media. Starting from chatting in the social media, they came close to each other gradually.

After some time, Behera proposed to marry her and she stayed with him in a live-in relationship in a rented house in the city. Behera took advantage of her on pretext of marriage and established physical relationship, she alleged.

She also complained that Behera took money from her on different occasions on some pretext or other. He has reportedly taken around Rs 20 lakh from the woman.

“After exploiting me physically, Behera remained aloof and started avoiding me. A few days back, he went of the house and did not return. Now, I am unable to contact him on the phone or social media,” the woman told the media after submitting the petition.

She has appealed to the DCP to trace the OSAP constable and take suitable action against him for cheating her.
