Bhubaneswar: A youth has been arrested for marrying an MBBS student in the Odisha capital by impersonating as a doctor.
The accused, identified as Sailendra Kumar Biswal, was arrested on Wednesday on the basis of a complaint lodged by his wife, an MBBS student of AIIMS here. Son a retried chief engineer, Biswal is a resident of Dumduma area, media reports said.
Claiming that he had an MBBS degree from a foreign university, the accused got married to the MBBS student as per Hindu rituals here on December 7, 2019.
However, the woman found out the truth within five days of their marriage and lodged a police complaint.
Biswal has not even clear Class XII exam, the reports added.
