Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Friday notified Bomikhal as a ‘containment zone’ to check any possible spread of COVID-19 after three cases were detected in the area.
The areas that have been sealed are:-
Café Coffee Day Lane (Near Ekamra Hall) to Jharpada Canal Road
Jharpada Canal Road to Jharpada Durga Mandap
Jharpada Durga Mandap to Cuttack-Puri Road (DCB Bank Square)
Cuttack-Puri Road(DCB Bank Square) to Café Coffee Day Lane (Near Ekamra Hall)
According to the BMC notification, no one will be allowed to enter or leave the containment zone. “Inhabitants within the containment zone have been advised to strictly remain at home. All shopping establishment have been closed with immediate effect,” it said.
Supply of essentials will be suspended in adherence with the shutdown orders by the Odisha government till 8 pm on Sunday.
Following which, BMC will ensure supply of these and medical requirements through various teams formed by it, the notification added.
