Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has planned a major upgrade of the Pathani Samanta Planetarium in Bhubaneswar and plans to establish a new planetarium in Nayagarh, aiming to boost science education and promote astronomy awareness across the state.

The Pathani Samanta Planetarium, which has been a hub for science enthusiasts and students since its inception, is set to undergo significant modernization.

Officials revealed that the facility will be equipped with advanced projection systems, interactive exhibits, and upgraded infrastructure to provide visitors with a more immersive experience of space science. The move is part of the government’s broader initiative to strengthen scientific infrastructure and encourage young minds

to explore astronomy and related fields.

In addition to the Bhubaneswar upgrade, plans are also afoot to set up a new planetarium in Nayagarh.
