Bhubaneswar: Bhubaneswar boy Sattwik Swain has been provisionally selected for the first-ever FIDE World Cup for youngsters, scheduled to be held at Georgia from June 22.
The tournament will be held in three age-groups – under-8, under-10 and under-12 – besides Open and Girls categories with 48 participants each.
Sattwik is in the under-8 category. He is a trainee of ProChessTa (Professional Chess Training Academy), an initiative of Odisha government’s Sports & Youth Services Department.
