Bhubaneswar: Several experts highlighted the importance of nutrition at a daylong programme organised by SUM Ultimate Medicare (SUMUM) to mark Rashtriya Poshan Maah, which is observed every September under Poshan Abhiyaan.
It was the first ‘SUNNO-SUM Ultimate National Nutrition Orientation’, themed on ‘Clinical Nutrition in Action: Applying Evidence Based Insight’.
Among experts who attended the programme were Bhaskar Dey, Principal, Naseema Institute of Speech and Hearing, Bengaluru; Dr Arpita Priyadarshini, Professor & Head of Department (Physiology) of Sri Jagannath Medical College, Puri; Dr Ashish Yadav, LLRM Medical College, Meerut; and Sandhyarani Rout, Consultant (Nutrition), National Health Mission.
SUMUM CEO Dr Swetapadma Dash underscored the importance of nutrition in the treatment of patients.
Dr Banambar Ray, Head of Department of Critical Care, and Dr PK Panda, Medical Superintendent, also addressed the programme.
