Bhubaneswar: The city-based sweets store, Chhapan Bhog – Pride of Odisha, will open its first out of Odisha unit in Bengaluru. The operations of their online vegetarian cloud kitchen will commence from Saraswati Puja on Saturday.
At a pre-launch event in Keeys Hotel at Whitefield, Bengaluru on Friday, Chhapan Bhog directors Satyabrat Mohanty and Bhakta Tripathy said they intend to expose the Odia vegetarian delicacies without onion and garlic to ‘Prabasi Odias’.
Odisha is the place of origin of many Chhena-based desserts like Rasagola, Chhenapoda, Rasabali, Chhenagaja, Chhenajhilli etc. ‘Odisha Rasagola’ has earned the GI Tag in 2019. Apart from these there are many traditional Odia dishes that deserve promotion.
About 10 well-trained dedicated staff have been flown in from Bhubaneswar and settled in Bengaluru for preparing the authentic Odia food at its outlet in Bengaluru. They have tied up with online food-delivery partners and will come up with a mobile app that will help customers place orders for Odia foods.
The directors said the Chhapan Bhog plans to set up more units in the Garden City and other cities like Mumbai, Pune, Delhi, Gurugram and Hyderabad shortly.
Several eminent Odias including Surya Mohapatra, Global Head, WIPRO; Pranab Pani, motivational speaker; Santosh Kumar Acharya, casting director, Bollywood; Divyashree, international model; Tejas, founder of GITagged store and Dr Anita Sabat, culturist were present at today’s event.
