Bhubaneswar: A girl student of Utkal Sangeet Mahavidyalaya was found hanging inside a hostel room in Odisha capital on Monday.
The deceased hailed from Kendrapada district and was a Plus II 2nd year student in the Odissi department of the institute.
Sources said that her classmates found her hanging from the ceiling fan with a dupatta inside the hostel room when they pushed the door hard after repeated knocks elicited no response and informed the superintendent. She was staying in a 3-bed hostel room, but her roommates had left for home.
Capital Police have seized the body and initiated an investigation to ascertain the circumstances leading to her alleged death by suicide.
