Prayagraj: The King of Bhutan, Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck, on Tuesday participated in the Mahakumbh festivities and took a sacred dip at Triveni Sangam (the confluence of Ganga, Yamuna and the mythical Saraswati rivers) here.

Accompanied by the Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath, the king also offered ‘arghya’ to the Sun before taking the holy dip.

The world’s biggest religious and spiritual fair is attracting visitors from across the globe, irrespective of faiths, classes and countries, with over 34.9 crore having taken a holy dip in the Sangam so far.

My grandparents, great-grandparents had planned to take a dip in the Ganga, but they never did because we are from the South, and traveling was very difficult 70 years ago. So, I had the thought that if ever Kumbh comes, I will offer a ritual in their name. I needed to pay my debt to them,” she told IANS.

She also helped serve the Mahaprasad at the ISKCON camp.

2. Gautam Adani, the chairman of the Adani Group, traveled with his family to attend the Mahakumbh Mela. Adani, his wife Priti Adani, the chairperson of the Adani Foundation, and their son Karan Adani, the managing director of Adani Ports and SEZ Limited (APSEZ), also offered prayers at Triveni Sangam.
