Bhuvi Bags 3/15 As India Outplay England To Seal T20I Series

Birmingham: India avenged their Test defeat at the hands of England with a brilliant show in the T20 International series.

Rohit Sharma’s men in blue followed up their 50-run win two days ago at Southampton with a comprehensive 49-run victory at Birmingham here on Sunday night.

The visitors got off to a flier, reaching 61/1 in 6 overs. But the visitors seemed to lose the initiative and lost flurry of wickets, including that of Virat Kohli (1) who flopped yet again.

Ravindra Jadeja’s unbeaten 46 off 29 deliveries took India to 170/8.

India’s bowlers then took over, with sultan of swing Bhuvneshwar Kumar bagging two quick wickets and finishing with 3/15 to be adjudged Man of the Match. Jasprit Bumrah (2/10) and Yuzvendra Chahal (2/10) contributed well, too, as England were bowled out for just 121.

Scores: India 170/8 in 20 overs. England 121 in 17 overs.

Result: India win by 49 runs.

Series: India lead 2-0 (1 game left).
