Bhubaneswar: Bidyut Bihari Swain, a Gujarat cadre IAS officer of 1988 batch, has been appointed as member of the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC).
An official order, released by the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, stated that the President has appointed Swain as member of UPSC. The tenure of Swain, who belongs to Odisha, will commence from the date he assumed the office, it added.
“The term of his appointment will be regulated in accordance with the provisions of Article 316(2) of the Constitution of India and the conditions of the service will be governed by the UPSC (Members) Regulations, 1969,” the order further said.
