Bhubaneswar: In a major boost for Odisha FC, Amrinder Singh has signed a new contract which will keep him at the club until 2026.
India’s top goalkeeper will be a source of strength for Odisha FC in the upcoming AFC Cup. The Juggernauts qualified for the continental tournament’s main round for the first time after beating I-League winners Gokulam FC in the qualifier.
The 29-year-old Amrinder played a huge role in Odisha FC’s successful season, during which they qualified for their maiden ISL playoff stage, won the Super Cup conquering Bengaluru FC and then securing an AFC Cup spot as well.
Amrinder stood tall under the bar and was awarded ‘Goalkeeper of the Tournament’ award in the Hero Super Cup as the Bhubaneswar-based club won its first silverware.
Amrinder made 21 appearances in last season’s ISL, achieving a 62% save percentage, 112 catches, 61% passing accuracy and also being the only goalkeeper with an assist.
