Bhubaneswar: Farmers in the state can heave a big sigh of relief as they can now pay land revenue online from the comfort of their house.
The online payment system was launched by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik here on the occasion of Independence Day.
It is the first initiative under the 5Ts mission of the Naveen government towards bringing a transformational change in Odisha. The 5Ts are teamwork, transparency, transformation, time limit and technology.
Under the new online payment system developed by NIC Bhubaneswar, a farmer can make an online payment in minutes and get the receipt. With this, he will be spared the pain of making rounds of government offices and go through the cumbersome process of paying land revenue, the CM said.
Manoj Kumar Das, a farmer from the Bhubaneswar tehsil paid his dues live via video conferencing demonstration and efficacy of the new system at the CM’s function.
The CM’s secretary of 5Ts initiative, V. K. Pandian said by 2020, all government services will be available online with minimum human interface.
