Bhubaneswar: The Skating Association of Odisha has named the state’s largest-ever contingent for the upcoming 63rd National Roller Skating Championship.
As many as 94 skaters, from 12 districts, have been selected for the National championship, based on their performances in last month’s 12th Odisha State Roller Sports Championship which was conducted at the Kalinga Stadium.
Odisha skaters will compete in 10 disciplines, which include speed skating, inline freestyle, roller derby and skateboarding.
The 63rd National Roller Skating meet, slated to be held in Tamil Nadu from December 5 to 15, has been postponed due to court cases.
The Roller Skating Federation of India (RSFI) will announce revised dates and venues for the National championship once the court orders come.
“The Federation is dealing with certain internal issues that are presently sub-judice in various Hon’ble High Courts. Due to these ongoing legal proceedings, the Roller Skating Federation of India is unable to finalise and /or announce the final dates, venues and further required details of the events discipline wise for the forthcoming 63rd National Championship 2025 at this juncture,” RSFI stated.
“We are currently awaiting the Honourable Court’s final verdict on these issues. Once the judgment is delivered, the Federation will move swiftly and act accordingly to finalize the plans for the National championship.”
