Cuttack: A youth from Bihar was arrested by CDA Phase-II police on Sunday for allegedly posting a minor city girl’s snaps and videos on social media.
According to DCP Prateek Singh, the accused is 20-year-old Prakash Kumar of Muzaffarpur district in Bihar, who first befriended the 15-year-old girl studying in class X via the ‘Likee’ app, and then forced the girl to send her nude pictures and videos.
Also, during WhatsApp video calling, the victim’s nude pictures and videos were recorded without her knowledge. While the victim avoided contact with him getting busy with her studies, the Prakash abused her in obscene language and threatened her with dire consequences.
The accused then circulated the nude pictures and obscene videos on Instagram and WhatsApp, besides sending those to her parents and relatives and threatening to upload those on various social media platforms tagging her friends and teachers.
According to the DCP, the victim’s father registered the FIR soon after the matter came to his knowledge. Following the complaint, the accused was arrested, said the DCP.
