Cuttack: The famous Biju Patnaik Park in Odisha’s Cuttack city has reopened after a complete renovation at a cost of Rs 26 crore.
Housing and Urban Development Minister Krushna Chandra Mohapatra formally reopened the park located in CDA area of the silver city on Monday.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said one of the key attractions of the park is the 1.5-kilometer synthetic running track which has been made keeping in view the requirements of people who are keen to keep themselves physically fit.
This apart, a meditation centre has been set up in the sprawling complex to promote wellness, together with extensive landscaping and beautification.
“It is a gift for the people of Cuttack. We are keen to create a healthy and environment friendly area,” he said.
CDA Vice-chairman Anam Patra said specially curated bonsai plants have been planted. EPDM walking tracks, 10 tower foundation, Koraput coffee centres, playgrounds for children, open air gymnasium, sitting bench, rain rest shed, lights have also been made.
The park has been developed by the National Projects Construction Corporation Limited (NPCC).
