Bhubaneswar: The prestigious Biju Patnaik Sports Award for 2019 will be conferred on para athlete Jayanti Behera.
In a letter to Behera, Sports Secretary Vishal Kumar Dev said she will be honoured with the award for her outstanding performance to sports and games at a function at Lok Seva Bhawan here on August 29.
Belonging to Sakhigopal, Behera won silver and bronze medals at the Asian Para Games, Indonesia in 2018. She was also the winner of silver medal at the World Para Athletics Championships, London in 2017.
She has won nine medals including four gold medals at international events.
