Puri: Two miscreants allegedly snatched more than Rs 5 lakh in cash from a woman SHG member in broad daylight in Odisha’s Puri on Thursday.
According to sources, the woman of an SHG in Sampur under Pipili police station in the district had withdrawn Rs 5,58,000 from a branch of the State Bank of India (SBI) at around 4 pm.
While she was returning to her vehicle from the bank, two miscreants came on a motorcycle and snatched the cash bag from her. While the woman cried for help, the duo sped away on their bike. The incident took place in front of Pipili police station.
Later, the woman filed a complaint at Pipili police station. The police have registered a case and launched manhunt to trace the accused.
