Baripada: One person was killed and another critically injured after a truck dashed against the motorcycle they were riding on in Bisoi area of Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district on Friday.
According to reports, the mishap took place near Mahubhandar on National Highway No. 49 under the jurisdiction of Bisoi police station in the morning.
The two were travelling to a nearby village when the speeding truck hit their motorcycle from the rear and sped away, they said.
While one of them died, another sustained serious injuries. He was rushed to a hospital nearby where his condition was stated to be critical.
On being informed, a team of police personnel rushed to the site and made arrangements for sending the injured to the hospital. Further investigation is underway and efforts are on to trace the truck.
