Biker Crushed To Death By BDO’s Vehicle In Odisha’s Gajapati

Paralakhemundi: A man died after the motorcycle he was riding was hit by the vehicle of a Block Development Officer (BDO) near Paralakhemundi in Odisha’s Gajapati district on Tuesday.

Sources said the mishap took place near Koduli Chowk at Jajpur village when Mohana BDO’s vehicle dashed against the bike while proceeding towards Paralakhemundi.

The bike rider, who died on the spot, was identified as T Prabhakar, aged around 50 years, of a nearby village.

Inspector In-Charge (IIC) of Paralekhemundii police station Bibekananda Swain said the body was sent to the hospital for postmortem, while the vehicle was seized and its driver detained. Further investigation is in progress.

Eyewitnesses claimed that though the BDO was travelling in the vehicle, he left the site immediately after the mishap.
