Anandpur: A biker was killed after being hit by a speeding truck on National Highway-20 near Gohira at Anandpur in Keonjhar district on Sunday.
The deceased was identified as Pintu Mallick, a resident of Fakirpur.
According to eyewitnesses, the accident took place when the driver of the truck lost control over the vehicle due to over-speeding.
In a separate incident, a tyre-laden truck caught fire at Meenapai ghati in Koraput district.
On being informed, fire officials rushed to the spot and brought the blaze under control. No injuries were reported in the incident. The reason behind the mishap is yet to be ascertained.
