Cuttack: A motorcyclist was killed after being hit by a speeding trucknear Trisulia Bridge on Kuakhai River in Cuttack on Wednesday. The truck driver fled the spot after the incident.
Following the incident, an irate mob staged a road blockade near the accident spot demanding compensation for the family of the deceased and action against the truck driver.
Owing to the blockade, hundreds of vehicles were left stranded on either side of the road for a couple of hours. The blockade was lifted after police reached the spot and assured the agitators that their demands will be fulfilled.
According to eyewitnesses, the accident took place as the truck driver was over speeding.
