Jajpur: Tension prevailed at Chhanchina in Jajpur district on Friday following the death of a man in a road accident.
The deceased has been identified as Sashikanta Behera (50) of Dudura Hanta village in the district.
According to sources, the accident took place when Behera was returning home from Jajpur Town in a scooty.
A brick-laden truck hit him from the backside, following which he died on the spot.
The driver, however, managed to flee the spot.
Irate locals blocked the road with the body and demanded immediate arrest of the culprit.
