Bhubaneswar: Following the recent death of a Class VII student, the Capital Region Urban Transport (CRUT) on Sunday said the unfortunate incident was caused by a negligent and rash motorcyclist and not Mo Bus as reported by a section of media.
“While we mourn the demise of the child in the unfortunate accident and express condolences to his family, we would like to bring to the notice of the public that the accident was caused by a bike and the Mo bys passing by immediately stopped seeing the child lying in front,” it said.
The victim was identified as Sandeep Nayak, a student of Unit 8 Government High School, and the accident took place while he was returning home from tuition around 8.30 am on Thursday.
“Please be informed that the accident was not caused by Mo Bus but by the negligent and rash driving of the biker and the same has been testified by local people present at the accident spot,” it said.
The CRUT further added that the Mo Bus crew immediately contacted police and facilitated the process of taking the child to the hospital.
