Rourkela: A man died after the motorcycle he was riding was hit by a speeding bus near Lathikata in Odisha’s Sundargarh district on Sunday.
According to sources, the but was proceeding to Badbil from Rourkela when it dashed against the bike on the national highway near Bajrang Chhak at Lathikata in the morning.
The bike-rider, who was proceeding towards Rourkela, died on the spot. Soon after the mishap, a truck reportedly dashed against the bus from the rear.
On being informed, a police team from Lathikata visited the site and seized the body. While an investigation was launched, the accident is stated to have taken place because of thick fog in the area in the morning.
Tension prevailed in the area for some time as local residents staged a protest,
