Rourkela: A youth was killed and his two friends were injured as a motorcycle ran over them while they were watching cricket match on mobile phone on the road in Odisha’s Sundargarh district on Sunday.
As per reports, three friends of Gamalei village near Lahunipada under Bonai block of the district were watching the ODI World Cup match between India and South Africa on a mobile phone sitting on the main road near their village.
A bike rider came on the road in high speed and rammed into them. The biker apparently could not see the three boys from a distance as they were sitting in darkness.
On the impact of the accident, one of the friends died on the spot while two others were seriously injured. The locals rushed the injured to local hospital. Later, they were shifted to RGH in Rourkela as their condition deteriorated.
On being informed, a team from Bonai police station went to the village and started investigation.
