Baleshwar: A massive fire broke out at a motorcycle showroom in Sahadevkhunta area of Odisha’s Balasore district on Wednesday, destroying more than 15 two-wheelers and accessories.
The fire reportedly erupted in the morning and spread through the showroom engulfing the entire premises. Motorcycles kept there as stock got caught in the flames and several of them were reduced to ashes.
According to the sources, more than 15 motorcycles were gutted in the fire. Several accessories and pieces of furniture kept inside the showroom were also burnt.
No one was reported to have been injured in the incident, while efforts are on to ascertain the exact cause of the fire which remains unclear.
The vehicles and other materials were reportedly badly damaged before the fire could be brought under control. The total financial loss caused by the incident has not yet been assessed.
After receiving information, fire service personnel rushed to the spot and launched firefighting operations. The team worked to contain the flames and prevent the fire from spreading further.
The exact reason behind the fire was yet to be ascertained. The officials will examine whether the showroom had adequate fire safety arrangements.
