New Delhi: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Monday rubbished Congress president Rahul Gandhi’s ‘remote-controlled’ jibe during the latter’s visit to Odisha on January 25.
“Bilkul Bakwaas,” the Chief Minister said laughing when mediapersons asked him about truth in Rahul’s statement that he was remote-controlled by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The Congress president in his address at a public meeting at Tamando, on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar, had said that the Prime Minister makes Naveen Patnaik dance to his tune as and when he wishes.
When asked where he was terrified of the PM’s rising popularity, Naveen said, “That’s not true.”
On his sister Gita Mehta, the acclaimed writer of international repute, declining the Padma Shri, he said, “My sister has the right to do whatever she desires.”
The Chief Minister, who is on a two-day tour to New Delhi since Sunday, will attend a financial review meeting at Odisha Bhawan. He will return to Bhubaneswar this evening.
