Bhubaneswar: Odisha Government has decided to resume biometric-based attendance system in universities and colleges from October 1.
A notification issued in this regard by the Higher Education Department stated that the biometric attendance will resume from October 1 for all teaching and non-teaching employees of all institutions.
The system will be back a year-and-half after it was stopped by the government in March 2020 as a precaution against the spread of coronavirus. During this period, the heads of the departments were asked to keep record of attendance of their staff.
