Kalinganagar: The Bansidhar & Ila Panda Foundation (BIPF) has launched two of its flagship outreach initiatives named Kanya Express and e-Shikshya Express at Kalinga Nagar in Odisha’s Jajpur.

District P Anvesha Reddy inaugurated inaugurated the programmes on Monday.

The Kanya Express, which is part of BIPF’s healthcare vertical since 2021, is a mobile health initiative aimed to combat anaemia among adolescent girls. Awareness on nutrition, menstrual hygiene and preventive healthcare are promoted through this initiative.

e-Shikshya Express, on the other hand, was introduced in 2024, and functions as a mobile digital learning centre. It facilitates basic digital literacy and computer skills to under-served communities, enabling individuals, particularly youth and women, to become confident participants in an increasingly digital world.

Established in 2011, BIPF is the social development arm of Indian Metal & Ferro Alloys Ltd (IMFA).

Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi conducted the groundbreaking function for IMFA’s upcoming plant in the region on May 22, while efforts to engage with and support local communities had begun well in advance.

“With Kanya Express and e-Shikshya Express, we are taking essential services directly to where they are needed most. These initiatives reflect our belief that when you invest early in health, education, and dignity, you lay the foundation for a more resilient and inclusive future,” said BIPF’s trustee and CEO Shaifalika Panda.
