Rourkela: Biramitrapur MLA George Tirkey’s son Rajesh has been accused of raping a girl on the pretext of marriage. The girl lodged a complaint in this regard at Rourkela mahila police station on Thursday.
A case under Sections 376 (N), 506 and 294 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) has been registered and statement of the complainant recorded before a magistrate under Section 164 of the CrPC, police sources said.
In his reaction, the legislator said, “The girl had been blackmailing my son for some time. Law will take its own course.” He further added that they will furnish some audio clips as evidence pertaining to the case.
