Sundargarh: The death of several birds and chickens has triggered panic in Koida block in Sundargarh district.
According to reports, some crows were found dead near Koida police station and in the New Garden Colony area while some chickens died in Dhubalebadha area of the block.
Following information, a two-member team of Dr Nilamadhab Sahu and Livestock Inspector Rakesh Kumar Pradhan went to the areas and collected samples of the dead crows and chickens.
“We will send the samples to the Animal Diseases Research Institute (ADRI) at Phulnakhara in Cuttack for tests. On the basis of the report from the institute, we will be able to say whether the death of these birds and chickens is due to the outbreak of bird flu or not,” Sahu said.
